Wow, Im just shocked...logged into Vista today on my MacBook to see that Vista installed drivers for my isight webcam. Does not seem to operate in Messenger as of yet, but I'm glad to see that there is a driver none the less...

This certainly gives me hope that I will eventually be able to use the iSight camera on my Intel iMac 17".
However, as long as Microsoft continues to use Messenger, you will never be able to do video chat with anyone who uses iChat AV on a Macintosh using Messenger.
The only Windows program which is compatible with the iSight and iChat AV is the AOL Instant Messenger.
There is a Bonjour for Windows, but it only allows one to share printers, not other devices.
Let's face it, Microsoft and Apple ARE still rivals, even though they speak "friendly" to each other nowadays.

What about some of the multi-use chat programs like Adium or Fire? Any chance the open source/little guy will pull off what Apple can't/won't?
Here's a toast to those little guys!! :-)

If I'm not mistaken, neither Adium or Fire allow one to chat via iChat AV (at least the video chats).
AOL's Instant Messenger will do a cross-platform video chat with Mac users, however.
IF the iSight camera had a Microsoft driver, it could potentially be used by almost any Instant Messenger which provides video chatting in Windows. I don't see Apple releasing such a driver anytime soon.
As to "toasting the little guys". Too bad it's not them who released the iSight and iChat AV.
