What's so great about iSight?
Simple; a Firewire camera on a Mac is Prug'n Pray. Just plug it in and it pops up, and works in iChat, Skype, whatever. Plug in a USB camera and you will need to install a driver, which will come with the camera but may or may not work with the version of MacOS that you are using, or with any subsequent version.

Assuming I can get another camera to work, like a Logitech with the macam driver???, or dare I imagine a Fuji E550 (has a web cam capability, but of course no software for new Macs), how can I get an application to know I want it to use the alternate camera instead of the built in iSight.
